The King Blues is an acoustic - ska band from London that combines in their style influences of ska and acoustic folk with those of punk and hardcore. They were influenced by Public Enemy , The Clash , The Specials and Minor Threat, among others .

Band history

The King Blues started out as a ska duo consisting of Itch ( ukulele / vocals) and Jamie Jazz ( guitar / additional vocals). Jamie Jazz was then working in a music store called "Rock Around the Clock" in Crouch End / Muswell Hill, London, but gave up this occupation when he realized that the success of The King Blues could only be achieved with all his time. A further acoustic guitar and a bass were added to the band shortly afterwards. The sound of the King Blues was then described as “soulful ska with raw folk and a punk rock attitude”.

In June 2006, they released their debut album Under the Fog on Household Name Records , which led to an increase in gigs and performances.

The second album Save the World, Get the Girl , followed on October 20, 2008 , after the first single Let's Hang the Landlord had been released in May .

The band announced their split on April 2, 2012.

On November 25th, 2015 the band played on Kerrang ! and announced their reunion on their Facebook page.

At the beginning of 2016 the EP “Off with their Heads” was released with a new line-up and in April 2017 the completely new album “The Gospel Truth” was released.
