The Lennon Sisters
The Lennon Sisters are an American singing group that had their greatest success from 1955 to 1968. The group consisted of four sisters: Dianne (born December 1, 1939 ), Peggy (born April 8, 1941), Kathy (born August 2, 1943) and Janet (born June 15, 1946) Lennon. All four were in Los Angeles ( California ) to the world.
They had their first public appearance in the 1955 Christmas show by Lawrence Welk . In 1956 they had their biggest hit with the Lawrence Welk Orchestra: Tonight You Belong To Me , which reached number 15 on the Billboard charts. With the Billy Vaughn orchestra , they achieved their second and final placement in the charts (number 56) in 1961 with the title Sad Movies (Make Me Cry) .
In 2001 the group was inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame .
