The Lincoln Project
The Lincoln Project is in the United States active political group , the end of 2019 by prominent members of the Republican Party was founded. Its goal is to prevent the re-election of Donald Trump , who runs for the Republicans, in the 2020 presidential election in the United States . After Abraham Lincoln named group supported instead, the candidate of the Democratic Party , Joe Biden . The project was initiated, among others, by the Republican Reed Galen, who worked for George W. Bush during his presidency. Between early April 2020 and late June 2020, the group raised almost $ 17 million in donations to be used in campaigns against the incumbent president and his supporters in the party.
