The Lines was an English post-punk and new wave band from London .

history

The Lines was founded in 1977 by Richard Conning ( vocals and electric guitar ), Hywel Phillips (electric guitar), Joe Foerty ( electric bass ) and Nicholas Cash ( drums ) and released five singles during their playing days, starting with White Night from 1978, an EP called Cool Snap! which is considered a debut album as well as the two long players Therapy and Ultramarine , before they split up in 1982.

In 2016, the Acute Records label released the band's previously unreleased "lost" album, Hull Down , after two compilations had previously been released by the band , which appeared together with The Cure , Bauhaus and Birthday Party .
