The Louisville Palace

The Louisville Palace is an event building and former movie palace in the entertainment district of the city of Louisville in the US state of Kentucky .

The large cinema , built opulently in an imitation of the Spanish Baroque style, was designed by John Eberson in 1928 . The great hall now holds 2,700 people (in 1955, according to the film Daily Yearbook, it was 3,273 seats). It shows the artificial starry sky that is typical of Eberson and is reminiscent of a planetarium . On March 28, 1978, The Louisville Palace was added to the National Register of Historic Places as a monument under the name Loew's and United Artists State Theater . Today the large hall is mainly used for concerts and other live performances.
