The Oppressed

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Oppressed is an anti-fascist Oi! -Band from Wales formed in Cardiff in 1981 . Most of the frequently changing members of the band were skinheads . During their entire career, the band members, above all singer Roddy Moreno, have repeatedly and publicly expressed their anti-racist and anti-fascist opinion: in their texts, in interviews and the like. In 1989, Moreno visited New York and met several members of the SHARP movement (Skinheads Against Racial Prejudices - German: Skinheads against racial prejudices). After returning to the UK, he began to bring the ideals of the SHARP movement closer to British skinheads.
