The Pampered Chef is a direct sales or multi-level marketing company founded in 1980 that sells kitchen items. Since 2002 it has belonged to the Berkshire Hathaway group of companies , owned by major US investor Warren Buffett .

history

The housewife Doris Christopher founded The Pampered Chef in 1980 in Addison , not far from the metropolis of Chicago in the US state of Illinois . In order to earn money without having to leave the house and her two small children, she organized cooking shows for friends and acquaintances in which she introduced kitchen helpers and gave cooking tips. Their concept worked and over time more and more people became part of The Pampered Chef. Between 1995 and 2001 operating income grew by 232% compared to 49% of the rest of the industry. In 2002, Warren Buffett bought The Pampered Chef for 1 billion US dollars and integrated it into his Berkshire Hathaway group of companies.

Today the company is also represented in many countries outside of the USA. The articles are particularly popular in Great Britain , Germany , Canada and, since this year, Mexico as well, both in the hobby and professional sectors. The UK celebrated its first successful decade in 2009 and moved to a larger office. In addition, 500,000 were British Pound Sterling as the revenue that has been made with special products, to the Cancer Research donated. However, on January 1, 2016, the British office was closed again.
