Addison is a village in DuPage County in the northeast of the US -amerikanischen State of Illinois in the west of the Chicago metropolitan area . At the 2010 census , Addison had 36,942 residents.

Addison has an area of approximately 25 km². The location is about 20 miles west of downtown Chicago and about 23 miles west of Lake Michigan .
history
The place was founded in 1839. It was named after the writer and politician Joseph Addison (1672-1719).
The Lutheran Teachers Seminary was founded in Addison in 1864.
Infrastructure
Due to its proximity to Chicago, Addison has an excellent infrastructure. Thus, the highways are Interstate 290 , Interstate 294 , Interstate 194 , Interstate 355 and Interstate 90 nearby.
