Woodridge is a village in Cook , DuPage and Will Counties in the northeast of the US state of Illinois and part of the Chicago metropolitan area . According to the 2000 census, the population was 30,934. In an official estimate in 2009, 34,173 inhabitants were determined. Woodridge is home to Morey Corporation , a Westwood College campus, Wilton Brands Inc., Pabst Brewing Company, and Seven Bridges Golf Course and Development Company .

Woodridge was founded on August 24, 1959 with less than 500 residents in a wooded area overlooking the DuPage River East. Woodridge is a young community with the vast majority of homes, businesses, and churches built after the 1950s. Woodridge was founded by builder Albert Kaufman, who was also largely responsible for building the village. In July 2007, Woodridge was ranked 61st of the 100 Best Places to Live by Money Magazine .
