Crest Hill is a city in Will County in northeast Illinois in the southwest of the Chicago metropolitan area . The population was 13,329 at the 2000 census and increased to 20,837 at the 2010 census.

The city of Crest Hill decided to become independent in 1960 to become independent from Joliet, Illinois .
