Chicago Heights is a city in the US state of Illinois . It is located in the Cook County district of the Chicago metropolitan area and has a population of 32,776. The city is the birthplace of jazz musicians Johnny Mince and Joe Farrell .

Chicago Heights is about 50 km south of the Chicago Loop . Chicago Heights is on the heights of the Tinley Moraine , with the higher and older Valparaiso Moraine directly south.
