Chicago Heights is a city in the US state of Illinois . It is located in the Cook County district of the Chicago metropolitan area and has a population of 32,776. The city is the birthplace of jazz musicians Johnny Mince and Joe Farrell .

Chicago Heights is about 50 km south of the Chicago Loop . Chicago Heights is on the heights of the Tinley Moraine , with the higher and older Valparaiso Moraine directly south.
According to the 2010 United States Census Bureau , Chicago Heights has a total area of 26.11 km 2 , of which 26.08 km 2 (or 99.87%) is land and 0.03 km 2 (or 0.13%) There are no bodies of water. The main thoroughfares through Chicago Heights are the Dixie Highway ( Illinois Route 1 ) and the Lincoln Highway ( US Route 30 ).
