history
The first white settlers in the area of today's Lansing were August Hildebrandt and his family. Three years later, Henry, George and John Lansing settled. By 1850, the settlement was connected to the Pennsylvania Railroad . In 1893 the settlement was raised to an independent municipality. In 1911 the first telephone line was moved to Lansing. Lansin was connected to the electricity network in 1912. The first asphalt road was laid in the town in 1915. In 1924 the Lansing Municipal Airport was opened.
