Hanover Park is a location in Cook and DuPage Counties in Illinois , United States and is a suburb of Chicago . According to the 2000 census, there were 38,278 residents in the city.

According to the 2000 census, 38,278 people lived in 11,105 households and 9,106 families in the village. The population density was 2176.6 inhabitants per square kilometer. There were 11,343 residential units with an average density of 645.0 houses per square kilometer.
Children under the age of 18 lived in 49.1% of cases in 11,105 households; 64.4% were married couples living together, 11.8% had a female householder, and 18.0% were non-families. 13.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 2.1% had people living there who were 65 years of age or older.
