Darlene Conley
Darlene Conley (born July 18, 1934 in Chicago , Illinois , † January 14, 2007 in Los Angeles , California ) was an Irish - American actress .
Life
Her father was Irish , her mother was German .
In the late 1950s and early 1960s, Darlene Conley was employed by a traveling theater company. She had one of her early film roles in Hitchcock's The Birds in 1963 , where she only played a minor supporting role as a waitress.
Your serial career began with a role in shadow of passion (original title: The Young and the Restless ). She played there from 1979 to 1987 (with interruptions) the role of Rose DeVille, the head of a prostitution ring, who did not shy away from child abduction. Darlene Conley joined the ensemble of the American television series Reich und Schön (original title: The Bold and the Beautiful ) in December 1988. In Reich und Schön , she plays the arrogant and cheeky Sally Spectra, who initially took the fashion pieces from Forrester Creation and took the Name Spectra Fashion. When, after almost two years of running the series, it was time to give the ghost a face, director Bell turned to the red-haired lady. She became one of the most popular soap actresses and is still the only daytime soap actress who is represented in her Emmy Award- nominated role as Sally in the wax museum of Madame Tussaud in Amsterdam and Las Vegas.
Conley was married to actor William Woodson from 1959 to 1966 and to Kurt Hensch from 1970 to 1981. She has a son from her first marriage.
Sickness and death
In the fall of 2006, doctors diagnosed the popular actress with gastric cancer . In the hope that the cancer could be treatable, the crew of Reich and Schön discussed integrating the disease into the Sally Spectra storyline , also to make possible external signs of the disease plausible. But the cancer progressed very quickly; Darlene Conley passed away on January 14, 2007, causing great consternation among her worldwide fan base.
