The Dodge County is a county in the state of Georgia to the United States . The county seat is Eastman , named after William P. Eastman .

The county is located approximately 70 km south of the geographic center of Georgia and covers an area of 1,303 square kilometers, seven square kilometers of which is water, and is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Laurens County , Wheeler County , Telfair County , Wilcox County , Pulaski County, and Bleckley County .
history
Dodge County was formed on October 26, 1870 as the 134th County in Georgia from parts of Montgomery County, Pulaski County and Telfair County. It was named after William E. Dodge , a New York businessman and speculator who owned large land and forest holdings in Georgia and built the first county courthouse in 1908 at his own expense.
