The Tugbach is a 1.5 km long right and east tributary of the Birs .

The Tugbach rises at an altitude of about 550  m above sea level. M. in a forest area east of Duggingen in the Hochwalder Flur Chesslet directly on the border between the cantons of Solothurn and Basel-Landschaft .

The brook crosses the border to Basel-Landschaft about a hundred meters southwest. It now flows through the Alti Gobe forest corridor and then changes at the Luegimatt corridor to an agricultural zone with fields, pastures and meadows.

It now passes, for the most part underground, the village of Duggingen and finally flows into the Gillmatte corridor at an altitude of about 302  m above sea level. M. from the right into the Birs .

Catchment area

The 7.49 km² catchment area of ​​the Tugbach lies in the Jura and is drained through it via the Birs and the Rhine to the North Sea.
