history
Beginnings
The rap band formed in Colorado Springs in 1998 after two opposing breakdance groups competed in a battle . The group soon merged into a breakdance group called The Procussions . While performing at the University of Colorado they caught the attention of Mike "Adict" Merriman, who would later release her first album Iron Sharpens Iron as their producer . Further breakdance appearances took place together for about two years until the member Qq collapsed during a performance and contracted multiple sclerosis . He then left the crew. They gained further notoriety as opening act for Run-DMC , The Pharcyde and Common . Her singles All That It Takes and and Leave Her Alone were released by ABB Records . All That It Takes reached number 9 on the College Music Journal hip hop charts . The single Leave Her Alone reached number 4 on the Rap Attack DJ charts .
Separation 2008
In early 2008, the band members announced that they would split up. One reason for this was to want to dedicate more to the solo career. Shortly thereafter, Mr. J. released his first solo album Of Gods and Girls on Rawkus Records . Stro Elliot continued to work as an independent music producer.
Comeback 2012
After several requests from fans, the two remaining main members Stro Elliot and Mr. J. reunited for a concert in Colorado. Shortly afterwards they announced that they wanted to produce an album together. The first 5 songs from The Procussions EP were released on April 24, 2013. Among other things, it worked with Talib Kweli . The album of the same name was released as a self-production on September 24, 2013. After the release, both went on tour in Europe.
