Kathleen "Katie" Slay (born November 4, 1991 in Plano , Texas ) is a former American volleyball player .

Born in Plano, Texas, Slay began her career as a volleyball player while on the Penn State University women's volleyball team , which she won the national championship with in 2013. There she played until 2014, before the 1.98 meter tall American moved to the French first division club Vannes Volley-Ball, for which she was active in the 2014/15 season.

In May 2015, the middle blocker switched to Dresdner SC , where she signed a one-year contract and won the German championship and the DVV Cup in her first season . In the 2015/16 season she scored 84 block points in the main round (1.2 block points per set) and 28 block points (1 block point per set) in the play-offs, making her the DSC player with the most block points. In May 2016, Slay announced that she would end her career at the end of the 2015/16 season to return to the US and "dedicate herself to her professional career".

National team

During her time with the Penn State University volleyball team, Katie Slay was part of the extended circle of the United States women's national volleyball team .
