The 2015/16 season of the women's volleyball Bundesliga began on October 15, 2015 with the encounter between Schweriner SC and Allianz MTV Stuttgart (3: 1) and ended in May 2016. Dresdner SC finished the main round as first in the table and became German champions. Newcomer NawaRo Straubing was punished with a point deduction and was thus determined to be relegated. VT Aurubis Hamburg did not apply for a license for the coming season, which is why the athletically relegated VolleyStars Thuringia remain in the league.

table

Since the 2013/14 season, the following rules have been applied to the DVV's game operations: three points are awarded for a 3-0 or 3-1 win, two points for a 3-2 win and two points for a 2-3 defeat one point and no point for a 1-3 or 0-3 defeat. In the event of a tie, the number of games won first decides, then the set quotient (division method) and finally the ball point quotient (division method).
