The 1999/2000 season of the Volleyball Bundesliga was the twenty-fourth edition of this competition. The Schwerin SC was the third time German champions .

This season the following ten teams played in the first division:

Dresdner SC competed as defending champion. SSV Ulm Aliud Pharma, TV Fischbek Hamburg and Rote Raben Vilsbiburg came from the second division.
