The 2013/14 season of volleyball league women began on October 16, 2013 and ended on May 3, 2014. German champions for the third time after 1999 and 2007 the Dresdner SC .

Teams

This season the following eleven teams played in the first division:

Schwerin SC took up the title as defending champion. There were no promoters. The junior team VCO Berlin competed in the 2nd Bundesliga. The women from Alemannia Aachen switched to PTSV Aachen and competed as "Ladies in Black Aachen". The women from VfB Suhl called themselves VolleyStars Thuringia.

Main round

The main round games took place between October 16, 2013 and March 12, 2014. The women's Bundesliga consisted of eleven teams in the 2013/14 season. VT Aurubis Hamburg in last place after the main round should actually be relegated to the second division . Since there was only one application for admission to the first division and twelve teams were allowed to play in the following season, Hamburg was given a new license.

From the 2013/14 season, a new point rule applies to the DVV's game operations: for a 3-0 or 3-1 win there are three points, for a 3-2 win two points, for a 2: 3- Loss one point and no point for a 1-3 or 3-0 defeat. In the event of a tie, the number of games won first decides, then the set quotient (division method) and finally the ball point quotient (division method).

Play-offs

The teams in the first six places were qualified for the playoffs. The teams in places seven to ten played the last two places in the playoffs in the pre-playoff. With the exception of the playoff final ( best-of-five mode ), all games were played in best-of-three mode .
