Liana Mesa Luaces (born December 26, 1977 in Camagüey ) is a Cuban volleyball player .

Career

Mesa played for Asystel Novara in Italy . With the Cuban national team , she became world champion in Japan in 1998 . She won bronze at the 2004 Olympics and came fourth four years later at the Beijing tournament . In the 2009/10 season, the diagonal attacker played for OK Red Star Belgrade . After a long break, she was signed by the German Bundesliga club Rote Raben Vilsbiburg in 2011 , where she ended her career in 2017.
