The Sage Gateshead is a concert venue and events center in Gateshead that opened in 2004. It is the home of Northern Sinfonia and Folkworks and includes a music school.

The Sage Gateshead was built according to plans developed by Foster + Partners in collaboration with Arup Acoustics . Construction began in 2001 and cost £ 70 million. It was named after one of the sponsors, the software company Sage Group . The opening weekend began on December 17, 2004.

The building is located on the banks of the Tyne and essentially consists of three event halls: Hall One with up to 1,700 seats, Hall Two with 400 seats and the Northern Rock Foundation Hall for 200 people. The three halls are connected to one another by a walkway serving as a foyer and covered by a vaulted roof structure. The Sage Gateshead covers an area of ​​8,000 m² and towers over 40 meters into the sky at its highest point.
