The Scene (Series)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Scene is a free American mini-series by Jun Group Entertainment and deals with the subject of the real, illegal computer subculture " The Scene " through the fictional story of a release group . She attracted particular attention because of her unusual style: almost exclusively the computer screens of text chat participants are shown. The series therefore seems like a cinematic adaptation of the range of letters , not only in terms of the written form, but also in terms of the fact that the viewer experiences the fictional world from the changing subjective point of view of the respective writer.

The series

The Scene is about the life of a film ripper group who have access to the latest movies through an outside person. It is explicitly emphasized that The Scene is not a series that is intended to encourage product piracy .

The series itself is distributed free of charge on the Internet and is under a Creative Commons license .

The Scene is not a normal-style series, however, as the characters are watched what they do on their computers. For the most part, the computer monitor of the actors is shown in the image, on which they chat , rip DVDs , write e-mails , etc. In addition, in the upper left corner there is a camera image showing the actor. The image never changes, but is rigid, similar to a webcam. For this reason, the production costs of the series are also very low and are around 600 US dollars per episode, according to the Jun Group. The episodes are licensed under the Creative Commons Naming No Editing License 2.0.

The boss of XPC calls himself “Hydrosan” (a mixture of the names of the actually existing group “HYdRO” and the name of the boss from the original “Drosan”).

The Scene 2.0
