The Shaw Group

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Shaw Group was an American plant engineering company based in Baton Rouge , Louisiana . According to the Fortune 500 list, it was one of the 500 best-selling companies in the USA. Shaw was founded in 1986 as a tube factory and entered the field of plant engineering and the EPC sector through acquisitions. Notable is the takeover of Stone & Webster in 2000. Expensive takeovers and the acquired nuclear technology business, which ran into problems due to cost overruns on reactor construction projects, put Shaw in financial distress. In 2012, CB&I decided to take over Shaw .
