The Spookshow is a Swedish horror punk music group founded in 2001 .

Career

Two years before The Spookshow was founded , guitarist Mike Dungeon, inspired by the Misfits and the Ramones , wrote the first song ("Now I Scream") , which is later used by the group, one of the few horror punk bands with a singer. In the summer of 2002 the two demo CDs Hellolulia and Back In Hell were released , each with seven songs and first concert appearances followed. Then the band went quiet again, while the brothers Knife Dungeon and Mike Dungeon continued to write songs for the group. The texts of The Spookshow deal with classic serial killer and horror film clichés and elements from B-movies in a humorous way that is typical of the genre.

In 2005 the band was revived by the two of them, the membership structure consolidated and The Spookshow received a record deal with Crypt Of Blood Records . That same year, on November 1, 2005, Psychosexual Chapter I, the first album in a trilogy, was released. In June 2007 the group signed a new record deal with the German label Wolverine Records . The follow-up album Psychosexual Chapter III should appear in June 2008, but work on it was delayed due to the pregnancy of singer Miss Behave. Nevertheless, the band was then on hold in the following years. It was not until spring 2013 that Knife and Mike Dungeon, the founders of the band, who are also responsible for all songs and lyrics, revived it with new band members. 14 songs have already been recorded as a demo, now with a new singer, and are to be released as the album Psychosexual Chapter III .

Former The Spookshow band members Miss Behave, Deadbeat and Carol Anne were active in their band Miss Behave & The Caretakers from 2012 . The debut album Daddy's Freakshow , released in 2013, is very similar to The Spookshow. After changing the singer, the group is now called Mad Mary & The Caretakers .
