The Surfers
The Surfers were a Dutch pop band that existed from 1978 to 1981. She became known for her single Windsurfin ' , which was a hit in several European countries.
Band history
The Surfers was created as a joint project by Jaap Eggermont , Willem van Kooten , manager Han Meijer and the band Catapult . With their first single Windsurfin ' , which was inspired by the sound of the Beach Boys and sung by members of Breeze and The Internationals , surfers had a big hit in the Netherlands and Belgium , where it reached number 2 in the charts. The title was also successful in Germany, where it took 16th place. However, four other men and three dancers were hired for stage appearances. With the successor Windsurfing Time Again another top 20 success was achieved in the Netherlands, but the following two singles flopped, which led to the end of surfers in 1981 .
