Jaap Eggermont (born October 31, 1946 in The Hague ) is a Dutch musician and producer.

He began his music career in 1964 as a drummer with the well-known Dutch band Golden Earring . He is on four of the band's LPs and creates the musical breakthrough with them.

In 1969 Eggermont changed sides in the music business and became a producer. The groups he has produced include many national top ten artists such as Greenfield & Cook , Sandy Coast , Spooky & Sue , Long Tall Ernie & The Shakers and the internationally very successful Earth & Fire .

His greatest success was the music project Stars on 45 , with which he conquered the top of the charts worldwide with oldie medleys. He also wrote the 1985 Formula One theme , one of the signature tunes for the German pop music show Formula One . Since the 1990s Eggermont has mainly been producing advertising music, including for several well-known large corporations, and film music.
