The tridents

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Tridents ( The Tridents ) were a British rhythm and blues band in the first half of the 1960s. They are best known through guitarist Jeff Beck , who appeared with the Tridents for a year and a half from 1963 before he switched to the Yardbirds . With the Tridents Beck developed his innovative playing on the guitar.

The band originally consisted of the brothers John Lucas (rhythm guitar, vocals) and Paul Lucas (bass, vocals) and Ray Cook on drums. Beck joined them in the summer of 1963. They entered the area of Chiswick in London on Southwest. Eventually the Eel Pie Island Hotel became their stronghold, where they occasionally played in front of 1,000 fans.

The Tridents did not release any recordings during their existence, but did leave a number of demo recordings. Jeff Beck published three of them in his retrospective "Beckology" (1991). After Beck left, the Tridents disbanded in 1965.
