The Trout Inn (also known as The Trout ) is a historic pub in Wolvercote, north of Oxford , near Godstow Bridge and Godstow Lock . The pub is right on the Thames .

The Trout Inn is a Grade II listed building that essentially dates back to the 17th century. Some changes and additions date from the 18th century. A wooden footbridge by the pub is also a Grade II protected structure.

The pub is featured in Evelyn Waugh 's Reunion with Brideshead and Colin Dexter's Inspector Morse series set in and around Oxford. Ex- US President Bill Clinton and his daughter Chelsea visited the pub in 2001 when she was studying at University College .
