The Turret ( English for The Wall turrets ) is a distinctive rock formation from trachyte on the Antarctic Ross Archipelago belonging Big Razorback Iceland . It rises on the western end of the island.
The Australian geologist Frank Debenham , participant in the Terra Nova Expedition (1910-1913) under the direction of the British polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott , named it descriptively.
