The Unsane is an American thrash metal band from Levitown , New York that was formed in 1986.
history
The band was formed in 1987 and consisted of bassist, guitarist and singer John Page, guitarist Tony Reynolds and drummer Franko Reynolds. After they had developed the first songs, the EP Inverted Crosses was released in 1988 via New Renaissance Records . On the album Slap of Reality that followed in 1991 , Page was only active as a singer and bassist.
style
The band played a fast and aggressive form of Thrash Metal reminiscent of Slayer on their EP Inverted Crosses . Page's singing, in particular, is often reminiscent of Tom Araya's . Almost every song is introduced by a scream, "as if John Page had just swallowed a swarm of bees", whereby "John still sings like Tom hasn't wanted to sound for a long time, very fast". The band acted similarly on their debut album Slap of Reality , although this was better produced than the EP. The sound of the album is compared to Slayer's Reign in Blood .
