The Vegan Society ( German  The Vegan Society ) is a in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland registered organization, dedicated to veganism supported.

The club, based in Birmingham , was founded in November 1944 by Donald Watson in Great Britain as the first such company. She introduced the term vegan for those vegetarians who do not consume eggs or dairy products . The vegans split off from the Vegetarian Society because it regarded the interpretation of vegetarianism advocated by Donald Watson and his colleagues as extreme and antisocial and refused to support it.

The anniversary of the foundation is since 1994 as World Vegan Day ( English World Vegan Day ) celebrated internationally.
