The World Vegan Day ( English World Vegan Day ) is an international day of action, the first time on 1 November 1994 to mark the fiftieth anniversary of the founding of the Vegan Society took place and has since been celebrated annually on November 1st.

Since the exact date of foundation was not known and only November was known as the foundation month, the then President of the Vegan Society Louise Wallis set the date for November 1st. She justified this by saying that she liked the overlap with Halloween on the one hand and Day of the Dead on the other.

In Germany, several information events and campaigns take place on World Vegan Day. In 2019, Swiss radio and television will cover the topic of veganism under the title "The Battle of the Vegans" in the political discussion program Arena .
