The Roland Digital Group (Roland DG) Corporation is a Japanese manufacturer of foil cutting plotters , large format inkjet printers , milling and modeling machines and 3D scanners .
A specialty of the Roland Digital Group are large-format inkjet printers with integrated cutting plotters, which allow the printed motif to be printed and contoured in a single operation. Roland inkjet printers are available from the factory with different inks for proof, sublimation, indoor and outdoor use. They are also a popular basis for conversions by third-party companies. There are conversions based on Roland machines that print directly on T-shirts or a wide variety of panel materials such as wood, glass and metal.
Roland DG Corporation was founded in 1981 as AMDEK Co. Ltd. (Analogue Music Digital Electronics Kits) and renamed Roland DG Corporation in 1983 . The company is based in Hamamatsu , Japan.
