The Vienna Review (formerly Art Nouveau) was founded in 2006 by the American journalist Dardis McNamee. Initially, The Vienna Review was a student newspaper from Webster University Vienna . The Vienna Review was the only English-language newspaper in Vienna at the time. The target group were the English-speaking society in Austria and Central Europe, expats and tourists.

Content

With contributions from journalists and academics, as well as Webster University Vienna students and graduates of worldwide descent, The Vienna Review contained articles for and about the entire international community. With a high proportion of young journalists from Central and Eastern Europe, the paper gave the reader a new perspective and an insight into European identity, which is still in the process of being shaped. The newspaper was a member of Project Syndicate , a syndication service based in Prague.

distribution

The Vienna Review was published monthly from its founding in 2006 until the end of 2013 and distributed through subscriptions and 100 sales outlets in Vienna and larger cities in Austria. The monthly circulation was around 10,000 copies. In 2011, Falter Verlag took over the publication. The newspaper was available both in print and online. There were also copies in Viennese cafés and hotels. The production of the magazine was stopped in January 2014. The editorial team founded a new magazine called Metropole - Vienna in English , published by Home Town Media GmbH, which was founded in October 2015.
