Metropole (spelling: METROPOLE ) is an English-language magazine aimed at English-speaking and international readers in Vienna . Metropole's motto “Don't be a stranger” describes the aim of the magazine: to help readers get to know Austria and the capital Vienna in particular.

Distribution / circulation

The magazine has a circulation of 30,000 and is available for sale in more than 400 locations: at newsstands, train stations, airports and bookshops. It is also available as a print or online subscription. Metropolis can also be read digitally on Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines flights . The magazine reaches employees of international organizations and companies via a company subscription model. Metropole appears four times a year.

content

Each issue has a central theme that is covered in the main part of the magazine. Metropole also publishes tips on events, excursions and places of interest and portrays city life in Vienna and its districts ( Grätzl ). In addition to contributions by permanent authors, each issue contains guest contributions that fit the topic. The majority of the online content is only accessible to subscribers, but the articles on City Life , the reports, event tips and the blog can be read by anyone.

history

In October 2015 founded Margaret Childs and Dardis McNamee the publisher Hometown Media GmbH and published the first issue of capital under the title "We Built This City". It was about the international influence in the history of Austria and Vienna, which can still be felt. The magazine's founders and many authors previously worked for The Vienna Review , a former English-language monthly magazine that has not been published since late 2013.

Events

Metropole regularly organizes events for readers, start-ups, companies and international influencers. The guests get to know each other, exchange ideas and visions and should get a feeling for the possibilities it opens up to live and work in Austria.
