Saiyid Darwīš

The Saiyid-Darwīš-Theater (also Alexandria Opera House or Sayed Darwish Theater ) in Alexandria was built from 1918 to 1921 in the style of eclecticism based on designs by the French architect Georges Parcq , who is based on the Vienna State Opera and the Théâtre National de l ' Odéon in Paris was inspired. It has been on the Egyptian Cultural Heritage List since 2000. Originally the theater was named after Muhammad Ali Pascha , later it was named after the Egyptian singer and composer Saiyid Darwīš (Sayed Darwish).
