Themed gastronomy

Under Theme restaurant refers to a special type of dining options, especially the gastronomic experience , mostly restaurants , a food offering, which will be presented under a specific topic. Themed restaurants are assigned to system catering . Although the concept influences the architecture, music, ambience and food offerings, the latter takes the primary position, since a themed restaurant is not used to look at the props, but to consume the food and drinks on offer.

Demarcation

Only restaurants whose theme does not relate to the national cuisine of a country, a certain personality or a product sold are referred to as themed restaurants . The atmosphere of the theme is captured to a degree that goes beyond mere decoration. The themed gastronomy offers less shows and animation than the themed gastronomy.

history

The first chain of themed restaurants, the Hard Rock Cafe , has existed since the 1970s and is considered a pioneer in themed gastronomy. In the 1980s the idea spread. The Medieval Times chain was created . The thematic hype came with Planet Hollywood in the mid-1990s .
