Thenewno2 is an alternative rock band from London, founded by Dhani Harrison - the son of George Harrison - and Oliver Hecks in 2006. Two EPs, two studio albums and a soundtrack have been released so far.
history
Thenewno2 was founded in 2006 after Harrison and Hecks had already collaborated musically in 2001. They chose the name because it was a nod to the British cult series The Prisoner . After they released their first EP EP001 in 2006, the band remained quiet for a long time. The first studio album you are here was only released in 2009 . In 2010 the side project Fistful of Mercy was launched, which goes from music style more towards folk rock . A second EP followed in 2011 - based on the first EP002 - and in 2012 the second full-length album thefearofmissingout . The band also wrote the soundtrack for the film Beautiful Creatures , which was released in 2012.
