Theodor Hecht (printer)
Theodor Hecht (also: Höcht ) (* 1650 ; † 1720 ) was a margravial Baden-Durlachian printer.
Life
Theodor Hecht probably came from Lindau and around 1699 applied in Durlach for the privilege of being a margrave of Baden-Durlach printer. In 1701 he married Elisabeth Karoline Holeis from Augsburg . Hecht's first known print, a tax regulation, dates from the same year . Hecht described himself on this work as “Fürstl. Hoff and Cantzley Buchtrucker ”. In 1702 a detailed instruction appeared, such as the Prince. Marggräffl. Baaden-Durlachische Landvolck to more necessary Beschrimung the country in good order prepare and in which weapons should be too practice: auff of Durchleuchtigsten Prince and Lord ... Friedrich Magnus, etc ... beschriben Marggravens to Baaden and Hochberg command kürtzlich and publicirt at Pike. A total of about 50 prints by Hecht have been recorded. In 1705 Theodor Hecht gave up his citizenship in Lindau.
