Theomorphosis

Theomorphosis ( Gr. Θεός , theos (god); μορφή morphē (shape)) denotes the reinterpretation of an element , object or person into something divine .

In ancient Greece , for example, there was the idea of ​​the sea as the element of the god Poseidon ; so the sea became the embodiment of this God. Mountains and solitary trees also became special objects.

Depending on religion or belief , a person can also go through a theomorphosis - but only in the rarest of cases alive.
