Theophilus I (Jerusalem)
Theophilus I († 1020 ) was the Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem from 1012 until his death .
Life
Theophilus was bishop of Hibal . In 1012 he became patriarch of Jerusalem. During his time there were clashes between the caliph Al-Hakim and the Syrian governor Al-Mufarij. Al-Hakim had the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem destroyed in 1009 .
