They Say It's Wonderful (German title: They say to be in love, that would be wonderful ) is a song that was written by Irving Berlin in 1946 for the musical Annie Get Your Gun . In the Broadway premiere of the musical, it was sung by Ethel Merman and Ray Middleton . The song has often been covered by jazz musicians, including Perry Como , Frank Sinatra , Sarah Vaughan , Doris Day , Johnny Hartman (with John Coltrane ) and Tony Bennett . Perry Como's version was a number one hit in Australia.

The song was published in part under the name Falling in Love Is Wonderful , for example by Jimmy Scott . German versions are by Bibi Johns and Heidi Brühl with Robert Trehy .
