Thoas (satrap)
Thoas ( Greek Θόας ; † 325 BC ), son of Mandrodoros from Magnesia am Meander , was an officer and governor of Alexander the Great .
Thoas is first mentioned in 326 BC. Chr. Named as one of the Trierarchs of the Indus fleet. During the march through the Drosian desert in 325 BC. He scouted landing points and water points for the Nearchus fleet . He was appointed satrap of the province of Gedrosien by Alexander after the predecessor Apollophanes had fallen in the fight against the rebellious Oreitins. However, Thoas died in the same year after an illness. He was replaced by Sibyrtios .
