Thomas Andres

Thomas Andres (born October 10,  1964 in Brannenburg ) is a former German basketball player . The 1.90 meter tall player played in the basketball Bundesliga for Osnabrück and Gießen. In total, he scored 4091 points in the Bundesliga during his career.

career

Armin Andres' brother  played for the DJK Rosenheim in the youth as well as for the men's team in the 2nd basketball league , from 1986 for the Bundesliga club BC Giants Osnabrück , at SSV Ulm , with whom he rose to the basketball league in 1988, and in To water. The defining station of his career was the last: In 1990 Andres moved from Ulm to MTV 1846 Gießen and was to play for the traditional Bundesliga club - sometimes alongside his brother Armin - until 1998. In addition to his basketball career, Andres completed a degree in business administration in Giessen. On the basketball field, Andres excelled as a good distance thrower, as a leader (he became team captain in Giessen) and as a player with great commitment and fighting spirit. Andres also played for Giessen in the European club competition Korac-Cup .

After the end of his playing career, Andres ran a sports shop before working for a software company near his home town of Brannenburg.

He remained loyal to basketball as a senior player for the DJK Rosenheim and temporarily looked after the DJK men's team in the regional league.
