Thomas Banzer (* 1980 or 1981 ) is a Liechtenstein politician ( FBP ).

biography

Banzer completed a commercial apprenticeship.

In 2012 he became managing director of the Progressive Citizens' Party. He held this office until 2015, when he was elected the new party president in April, replacing Elfried Hasler . Hasler himself had been interim party president since the resignation of the previous party president Alexander Batliner in December 2013. Banzer had already been in talks for Batliner's successor at the time, but had considered the time to take over this political office to be too early and rejected a nomination.

In July 2018, he announced that he would no longer run for re-election as party president in 2019. Marcus Vogt , who had already headed the party as president from 2005 to 2009, was elected as his successor at the party conference on April 9, 2019 .
