Thomas Beer (born April 24, 1964 ) is a former German cyclist .

Career

The graduate engineer (IT) Thomas Beer is cerebral paretic and cyclist. With the German national disabled cycling team he took part in international competitions. In 1990 he was four-time world champion in disabled cycling at the World Championships.

In 1992 he took part with the German National Disabled Team in the Paralympic Summer Games in Barcelona , where he was first in the race over 5 kilometers.

Beer then also took part in the world championships in cycling for the disabled in 1995, 1996 and 1998, in which he was vice world champion in 1995 and 1996, while in 1998 he once achieved a 3rd place.

For winning the gold medal in 1992 at the Paralympic Summer Games in Barcelona, ​​Federal President Richard von Weizsäcker awarded Thomas Beer the silver laurel leaf on June 13, 1993 .
