Thomas Elbel (electrical engineer)

Thomas Elbel (* 1945 ) is a German precision mechanic and professor of electrical measurement technology , sensor technology and the basics of electrical engineering at the University of Hanover .

Life

After training as a precision mechanic and graduating from high school in 1964, Elbel completed a degree in theoretical electrical engineering and control engineering at the TH Ilmenau by 1969 . This was followed by many years of industrial and research activity in the fields of electron beam lithography and microsensor development. Elbel received his doctorate in the field of solid-state electronics at the TH Ilmenau in 1985 . Since 1991 he has been a professor at the FH Hannover.

From 1997 to 2002 he was head of the applied research focus at the FHH Applied Microsystems for Medium-Sized Industry (AMIS).
