Thomas Gerlach (Designer)

Thomas Gerlach (* 1960) is a German industrial designer , professor at Pforzheim University , entrepreneur and former managing director and European president of frog design .

Life

His work for Apple , Sony , Fissler and NeXT became known .

After his time as chief designer and managing director of frog design , he became an entrepreneur in 1992: with the multi-channel company via4 Design , numerous international companies are advised on the development of their brands, the design of the products and their communication.

In addition, Gerlach is a professor at Pforzheim University and is responsible for the Master of Arts in Creative Direction (MACD) training.

In the 2000s Gerlach himself was a juror for the red dot award . He is a member of the board of the German Designer Association (DDV) and the Association of German Industrial Designers (VDID).

Awards

Gerlach has received over seventy design and innovation awards internationally.
